BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. (AP) - The municipal manager in Bellows Falls has a message for town and village employees - no blogging on the job.
Jim Mullen banned the use of work computers for blogging after at least two residents filed complaints alleging that village employees posted "vile and obscene" statements on message boards linked to the Web site of the Brattleboro Reformer newspaper.
Before the ban announced Tuesday, the village and the town of Rockingham allowed employees to use work computers for "occasional, brief, appropriate personal" business.
In a memo to employees, Mullen said blogging during work time or on municipal computers isn't appropriate.
