Brianna Maitland
Montgomery, Vermont - March 18, 2009
Thursday marks five years since Brianna Maitland disappeared.
Maitland was 17 when she was last seen leaving her job at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery. Her car was found about a mile away and there have been repeated reports of possible sightings of Maitland. Police say they believe she is not a runaway, but a victim of foul play. And they say their investigation remains open and active.
"A lot of interviews are re-interviewing people hoping that maybe there was something that did not come out early on. We are hopeful that we'll get some new information that will lead us in the right direction," Vt. State Police Capt. Glenn Hall said.
Police hope anyone with any information-- even if they think it's not important-- will report it. And Maitland's parents are offering a $20,000 reward.
