St. Mary School May Be Saved

Claremont, Vermont - April 6, 2009

There is hope that the oldest catholic school in New Hampshire may be saved.

St. Mary School in Claremont has been educating kids since 1890. But now there are now just 86 kids in the pre-K through 8th grade school. The Catholic diocese has ordered the school to close.

But an independent catholic school based in Keene, New England Classical Academy, is looking to expand, and may take over St. Mary. The new school would not be funded by the diocese, and would rely on donations, fundraising and tuition.
