A New Hampshire man was in court Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl multiple times.
James Martin, 26, of Grafton, N.H., is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault. The alleged assaults happened in 2002 when the victim was 6-years-old. She recently told her parents about the incidents and they called police.
According to court papers, Martin knew the family and the assaults happened on a daily basis over several months.
"The second charge is focused on repeated non-consensual sexual encounters. Which would be met if proven by the victim's allegation of repeat non-consensual sexual acts over the course of three months," said David Cahill, Windsor County Assistant Prosecutor.
When interviewed by police Martin denied any involvement in the crimes. If convicted he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
