Claremont, New Hampshire - April 14, 2009
The River Valley Community College in Claremont, N.H., hosted a job fair Tuesday. About 56 businesses took part. The jobs ranged from manufacturing to retail.
Organizers said that with more people out of work, jobs fairs become even more important, not just to help people find work, but to boost morale of those who have been laid off.
"Whenever you have the unemployment numbers jump the way they have, this is where communities pull together, state agencies pull together with their community partners, to put on events such as this so people can have a little bit of hope and know where to go," said Jim Hinson, of the N.H. Education Dept.
Local high schools helped organize that job fair.
