CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of a former Massachusetts teacher convicted of repeatedly raping a young girl.
Severine Wamala of Nashua, N.H., taught math and was a chess coach at Lowell High School before he was convicted in 2007 of 11 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. The case did not involve a student at the school.
After being sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison, Wamala appealed, disputing issues involving evidence, jury selection and witness statements. The Telegraph of Nashua says the high court agreed with the lower court's actions on each of the matters.
