CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire state prison authorities are investigating an assault on Gregory Floyd, who fatally shot a police officer's killer in Franconia two years ago.
The New Hampshire Union Leader reports Corrections Department spokesman Jeff Lyons says the assault on Floyd happened on April 16. He said Floyd was taken to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, where he underwent surgery for facial injuries. Lyons said the injuries were not life-threatening and Floyd is back in the Concord prison, where he began serving a 1 to 3-year sentence in March.
Lyons said he couldn't comment on the circumstances surrounding the prison assault.
Floyd, who killed Liko Kenney after Kenney shot Police Cpl. Bruce McKay, was convicted last year of threatening a neighbor.
