BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Glen Elder, a geography professor at the University of Vermont, has died after collapsing while jogging near his Burlington home.
The 42-year-old Elder was stricken suddenly Thursday. University Provost John Hughes notified UVM staff, faculty and students Friday in a campus-wide e-mail message, calling Elder a "wonderful colleague."
Elder chaired the Department of Geography for three years before being appointed to interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He was to become associate dean on July 1.,
