Vermont was buried by an avalanche of awards at a competition that honors ski areas.
At this month's National Ski Association convention, Vermont's ski areas scooped up eight awards, more than any other state in the nation. The Green Mountain State winners included Okemo, Stratton, Stowe, Mad River Glen and Jay Peak. The mountains earned awards for safety, environmentalism and marketing.
