KEENE, N.H. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has been arraigned on charges that he robbed two New Hampshire convenience stores while claiming to be a U.S. Marshal.

John Baldasaro of Somerville, Mass. was arraigned Friday in Keene District Court and ordered held on $200,000 bail.

He faces charges of kidnapping, robbery and theft by deception. Police say he convinced two Chesterfield store owners to hand over cash last month by telling them he was conducting a counterfeit money investigation.

He was arrested three days later in a New York hotel room on numerous outstanding warrants from throughout New England.
