An alleged brutal beating over the weekend has landed a Franklin County, Vermont, man behind bars. According to the Sheriff's department the fight happened on Sheldon Road in St. Albans on Sunday. The responding officer found a 79-year-old man at his home with extensive facial injuries, but the man couldn't recall what happened.
After medical teams arrived, the officer saw a riding lawn mower covered in blood next door. There was also a large pool of blood, false teeth and a hat in the yard.
The property owner, Rick Bessette, 44, said he and the other man got into a fight while Bessette was mowing the lawn. He then pushed the man and punched him several times. Bessette faces aggravated assault charges. He's jailed for lack of bail.
