Ticonderoga Man Allegedly Displays Gun To School Children
Ticonderoga, New York - June 17, 2009
An Essex County, N.Y., man is due in court today after police say he displayed a gun to a group of students.
Ticonderoga Police say 37-year-old Derek Chapleau, of Ticonderoga, was at his home on Calkins Place on Tuesday when he displayed a long gun to a group of students outside the Ticonderoga High School, which is right across the street. School officials were notified and property safety steps were taken.
Police surrounded Chapleau's home and arrested him. He's charged with multiple counts of menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. He's due in court this afternoon. The incident is still under investigation.
