Woman Admits Role in Classroom Assault

Barre, Vermont - June 18, 2009

A woman from Berlin has admitted her role in a classroom assault at U-32 high school.

Shannon Papineau, 33, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. She was placed on probation and ordered to spend five days on a work crew.

Police say in March Papineau's boyfriend, Peter Benedini, barged into a U-32 classroom, picked a 16-year-old girl up by the neck and threw her up against a desk. The girl had accused Benedini's daughter of stealing an iPod. Papineau yelled profanities at the girl while the assault was taking place.
