A new Miss Vermont was crowned Saturday night.
Laura Hall, of South Burlington, beat out 12 other girls for the title. The pageant was held at the Barre Opera House. Hall is a senior at Assumption College. Her platform is youth empowerment. The 21-year-old will now go on to represent the Green Mountain State at the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January.
Earlier in the evening, Sarah Cramton, of Thetford, was crowned Miss Vermont's Outstanding teen.
