Brattleboro, Vermont - June 30, 2009
Vermont has not sent in its application for to the U.S. Department of Education for its share of stimulus money, and the deadline is Wednesday, July 1.
Vermont expects to receive $77 million from the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund, but the application was held up due to the budget fight between Governor Douglas and the Legislature. The state's Recovery Officer Tom Evslin tells the Brattleboro Reformer that the application should be faxed by today. The money will be divided between pre-K through college programs around the state.
