Police in Winooski say a prescription drop box has been a big success.
The department collected more than 14,000 old prescription pills. The drop box was set up in the Police Department lobby as a way for people to get rid of unwanted or left over medications. They are then disposed of properly. Barre and St. Albans have similar programs.
