Hanover, New Hampshire - July 14, 2009
Hanover, N.H., has received national accolades for being among the top 100 best small towns to live in. The ranking is by CNN and Money Magazine.
Hanover's school system, low crime rate, and access to the arts helped it break into the top 100.
Hanover is best known for being home to Dartmouth College. Officials at the Ivy League school say that a strong partnership between the town and the college also helps with national standing.
"The many public offerings we have at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, at the Hood Museum of Art, athletic contests, our libraries which are available for public use. The many lectures and other kinds of public presentations that we have, and public spaces like right here on the green," said Roland Adams of Dartmouth College.
Louisville, Colo., was ranked the best small town in the nation. No Vermont towns made this year's list.
