Burlington, Vermont - July 16, 2009
A Georgia, Vt., man charged with manslaughter for shooting his hunting companion has lost a legal battle to get his statements to police suppressed.
Timothy Madden is awaiting trial for shooting his best friend David Jenkins while the pair were deer hunting in Milton 18 months ago.
Madden asked the judge to throw out his statements to police, claiming his Miranda rights were violated. But Judge Patricia Zimmerman rejected Madden's claim.
