A former assistant fire chief from Bennington has been sent to jail for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old junior member of his department.
Thirty-two-year-old Shawn LaFountain pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a child back in March. On Monday he was sentenced to serve three to ten years in prison.
Another former member of the department, 22-year-old Colby Harwood, admitted to molesting the same girl. Harwood was placed on probation.
