MOUNT WASHINGTON, N.H. (AP) - A 59-year-old Massachusetts man had to be carried to the top of New Hampshire's Mount Washington after slipping on wet rocks and breaking his leg.
Fish and Game officers said Edward Belove of Cambridge had been hiking the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail alone when he slipped about 10 a.m. Friday. He was about 200 yards from the Appalachian Mountain Club's Lake in the Clouds Hut.
Almost two dozen rescue workers helped carry Belove to the mountain top. He was taken down the Mount Washington Auto Road for treatment.
