NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (AP) - A man with a history of sexually assaulting children faces up to 17 years in prison in New Hampshire, and perhaps decades more in Massachusetts, where he has prior convictions.
Andrew Hebert of Madison was accused of luring two boys into the bathroom at the North Conway McDonald's on two separate days in 2007. The Conway Daily Sun says Hebert was convicted of kidnapping for the first incident in June and pleaded guilty this week to attempted sexual assault for the second.
The plea deal, which goes before a judge Monday, calls for an eight to 17-year sentence, but a Massachusetts court could tack on as much as 50 more years because the new convictions violate parole terms set after he was convicted there of similar charges in 1994 and 1996.
