Retrial for Couple Accused of Pimping Out Young Girl

Burlington, Vermont - August 5, 2009

A Washington County couple charged with pimping out a young girl will be retried.

Forty-two-year-old Stacey Parnitzke and her husband Shane Casey are accused of arranging sexual encounters between men and a pre-teen girl. They claim the girl invented the entire story.

Their initial trial in April ended after jurors were unable to reach a verdict. Now the Chittenden County Deputy State's Attorney says they plan to retry the case in late October. Parnitzke and Casey remain jailed for lack of bail. If convicted, both could face life in prison.
