Associated Press - August 7, 2009 4:05 PM ET

KEENE, N.H. (AP) - A Winchester, N.H., man has been convicted of stabbing a Keene State College student at a party last year.

The Keene Sentinel reports that jurors found Gary Duquette guilty Friday of 4 counts of first-degree assault. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

Last July, Duquette stabbed Justin Ranucci in the back, chest and leg outside the Alpha Pi Tau fraternity house. Ranucci’s lung and spleen were punctured.

The prosecution said Duquette faced Ranucci making it possible for him to identify his attacker. The defense argued someone else stabbed him during a drunken melee. Ranucci testified Duquette stabbed him.
