ESSEX, VT - A summer tradition that has turned into a fund-raising powerhouse is back this weekend. The 8th annual Vermont Wiffle Ball Tournament to benefit the Travis Roy Foundation is underway at Little Fenway and Little Wrigley, otherwise known as Pat O'Connor's backyard on the Essex/Jericho line. In it's first seven years, the Tournament has raised over $500,000 for the Travis Roy Foundation. The Foundation provides funds for spinal cord injury research and also awards grants to help improve the quality of life for individuals that have suffered spinal cord injuries. 24 teams will play a round robin tournament over the weekend. The public is encouraged to attend. There's food, souvenirs and an auction with the proceeds going to the Travis Roy Foundation. For more information or directions go to www.travisroyfoundation.org.
