A high school teacher accused of having sex with a student is being held without bail on new charges for allegedly having sex with her again.
Fifty-four-year-old John Buttura was originally arrested in April for having sex with a 16-year-old female student at Twinfield Union High School. He was arrested again in May for allegedly contacting her on the Internet against the judge's order.
On Sunday, he was arrested for the third time after state police say they got a tip from the girl's father. In the four new charges, Buttura is accused of having sex with the victim again last week and contacting her on three other occasions. Buttura pleaded not guilty to all four new misdemeanor charges, as well as the previous misdemeanor charge and original felony charge, but the judge ordered him held without bail.
If he's convicted, Buttura could face more than seven years in prison.
