Police: N.H. Man Crashes Car into Mount Holly House

Mount Holly, Vermont - August 25, 2009

Vermont State Police say a car crashed into a house in Rutland County early Monday morning.

The accident happened just before 2 a.m. on Route 103 in Mount Holly. State Police responded to a man who claimed to be injured when he struck a deer. They say further investigation revealed that 25-year-old Adam Coltey, of Charlestown, N.H., actually crashed into a home. The home was unoccupied, but the building was badly damaged.

Coltey suffered minor injuries, and police say he was lucky to have not been more seriously injured since he wasn't wearing a seat belt. Police say speed appears to be the primary factor in the crash. Coltey's license is under suspension and his car is uninsured. The crash remains under investigation and police say criminal and civil charges may be pending.
