New Contract for Montpelier Teachers

Montpelier, Vermont - August 27, 2009

Teachers in the Montpelier city school district have a new one-year contract. It includes a 3 percent pay raise.

Also, the district plans to launch a national search for a new superintendent next month. Former Superintendent Steve Metcalf resigned in April to battle cancer. He died in June. In the meantime, Montpelier High School Principal Peter Evans and former Superintendent Brian O'Regan are in charge of the post.
