Busy Burglar Sentenced for Alleged Cross-State Spree

Rutland, Vermont - September 1, 2009

A busy thief is now behind bars for his part in an alleged burglary spree across Vermont and New York.

Police believe 23-year-old Anthony Hall and 22-year-old Anthony Bridger, both of Rutland, are behind over 150 home burglaries in southern Vermont and New York between September and December of last year. They told police they robbed the homes to support their cocaine habits.

Last week Hall pleaded guilty to five burglary charges. He was sentenced to two-to-seven years in prison. Bridger reportedly faces a much longer sentence and more charges than Hall. He is scheduled for a change of plea hearing next week.
