The 17th annual South End Art Hop gets hopping Friday night in Burlington.
It is two days of exhibits and performances showcasing the work of more than 500 professional and hobbyist artists, mostly along Pine Street. Students at Champlain College are sharing their digital artwork with visitors including 3-D renderings of buildings in downtown Burlington and on-campus.
"I believe this is already a legitimate art form. Ten, twenty years from now, we'll be talking about the origins of 3-dimensional art in the history books," says Dan Ferrara, a Champlain College Junior.
Businesses say the festival gives them a boost in foot traffic... Which is helpful because many buildings in the South End of Burlington have unusual entrances or are hidden from the main roads.
