CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - There's a new mediation program in the New Hampshire court system.
It will give people a chance to resolve non-criminal disputes that would otherwise head to the state Supreme Court, New Hampshire's only appellate court.
Retired judges will serve as mediators for the appellate-level cases.
The state's Office of Mediation and Arbitration currently deals with district court cases for small claims matters; the family division for parenting, divorce, civil union and adoption matters; and civil cases in the superior and probate courts.
