WATERBURY, Vt. (AP) - Stowe Mountain Resort has been fined $7,500 for spilling 2,400 gallons of diesel oil into a pumping station owned by the town of Stowe.
The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources says none of the oil made it into the environment.
The oil leaked into a pump station between Oct. 31 and Nov. 3 after fuel valves were set improperly in a resort maintenance building.
Mt. Mansfield Co., the resort's owner, spent about $79,000 cleaning up the oil and re-routed the drain.
