N.H. Tax Evader Sentenced

Plainfield, New Hampshire - October 2, 2009

Convicted tax evader Elaine Brown was sentenced Friday for plotting to kill federal agents.

Elaine Brown was sentenced to 35 years in jail for stockpiling weapons.

She and her husband Ed Brown were supposed to be sentenced together last week, but a judge ordered Ed to under a psychiatric evaluation after his lawyer argued he might suffer from a delusional disorder.

In July, the Plainfield, N.H., couple was convicted on 11 counts of stockpiling weapons and planting bombs around their property.

The Browns are already serving five years in prison for tax evasion.

A sentencing date for Ed hasn't been set.
