Plattsburgh Woman Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

Plattsburgh, New York - October 13, 2009

Police say they found starving cats and a dog in the home of 29 year-old Janie Abernathy.   Police say they found 7 cats and a dog that had not been fed for weeks.  They also found a dead cat.  They say her home in the Lakeside Apartment Complex was infested with fleas and was covered in feces.    The surviving animals were brought to the Eagles Nest Veterinary hospital.
