Police Search for Bank Robbery Suspects

Rochester, Vermont - October 15, 2009

Police say the Randolph National Bank in Rochester, Vt., was robbed just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Witnesses say a man walked into the bank and demanded cash. He did not display a weapon. The bank teller handed over some money and the suspect ran off on Route 100. Moments later witnesses spotted him in the passenger seat of a black car being driven by another man. It headed south on Route 100.

No one was hurt and police say no customers were inside the bank when it was robbed.

Late Thursday afternoon, state police released a surveillance photo of the suspect.

The suspect who went into the bank is described as a white man in his late 30s to mid 40s. He is about 5'7" and has a stocky build. He has shoulder-length blondish hair and no facial hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a black winter cap with a visor, baggy blue jeans with the bottoms cuffed up, a black jacket, and sneakers.

The driver of the getaway car is described as a white male, about 5'5" and 140 lbs. He has black bushy hair and a black beard and was wearing a dark sweatshirt.

Investigators are searching for a Black Honda Civic with Massachusetts plates 7305ED. Anyone who sees the car is asked to call state police immediately at 802-234-9933. Police say don't try to approach or stop the vehicle. Police say the car was reported stolen in Springfield, Mass., on Sunday.

And anyone who witnessed the robbery, who saw the car, or who saw any suspicious activity near the bank and hasn't already spoken to police is asked to call the Vermont State Police at 802-234-9933.
