2 Killed in Plattsburgh Crash

Plattsburgh, New York - October 16, 2009

Two men were killed in a car crash in Plattsburgh Friday.

It happened at about 12:55 p.m. on State Route 190 near Pellerin Road.

Police say Aaron Trombley, 32, of Morrisonville, N.Y., was headed south when he crossed into the northbound lane. That caused Herbert Therrian, 56, of Altona, N.Y., to swerve into the southbound lane to avoid a head-on collision with Trombley's vehicle. Trombley then swerved back into the southbound lane and hit the passenger side of Therrian's car. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and Therrian's two passengers, Ronald Lee, 69, of West Chazy, N.Y., and Robert Wood, 44, of Altona, N.Y., were pronounced dead at the scene.

Trombley and Therrian were both taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
