Dozens of people got to do some free cliff climbing Sunday. Petra Cliffs opened its indoor facility for free -- while asking for donations to help raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Both diseases strike the intestines and colon.
Petra Cliffs owner Mike Anderson said he was diagnosed with Colitis earlier this year and wanted to help speed up medical research. "It's really just to make awareness of the disease. Most people don't like to talk about anything that has to do with the bowels, you know. It's not a sexy disease. But it affects a lot of people."
Anderson said Crohn's Disease and Colitis affect about one in two-hundred people. The fundraising goal was $10,000.
