Police Continue Search for Armed Carjackers

Lyndonville, Vermont - October 19, 2009

The manhunt continues in the Northeast Kingdom for two men believed to be responsible for an armed carjacking.

Investigators say around 1:30 this morning a 19-year-old female McDonald's employee was making the nightly deposit at the Community National Bank on Route 5 when she was approached by two masked men with a gun. They took the money and her car.

Police later found the car abandoned at a private residence.

"Right now we have no reason to think it is anything but legit. It appears that everything we found so far, that this was an armed robbery and obviously a car jacking," said Lieutenant J.P. Sinclair of the Vermont State Police.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
