Student Attacked at Johnson State College

Johnson, Vermont - October 19, 2009

The Lamoille County Sheriff's Department says a female student was grabbed from behind and was hit in the head as she was walking to campus Monday night.  The victim screamed to a passing car and the suspect took off.  The attack happened at the main entrance, just off Clay Hill Rd.

A notice sent to students by the school says the suspect may have been following the girl.   The student was not seriously hurt.

The suspect is a white man, about 18 years-old.  He's 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.  He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information -- is asked to call the Sheriff's Department.
