JOHNSON, Vt. (AP) - The Lamoille County Sheriff's office says an 18-year-old Johnson man has been arrested and charged with assaulting a college student.
The department says that Jimmie Emerson was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities say a female student from Johnson State College was hit in the head at 8:15 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Clay Hill and College Hill roads.
Police say the suspect was in the area before the assault.
The sheriff's department did not say what led them to Emerson.
