Middlebury, Vermont - October 22, 2009
A new website provides daily updates for travelers on both sides of the Champlain Bridge.
The bridge, also known as the Crown Point Bridge, was closed last Friday when it was deemed unsafe-- even for pedestrians. The closure has created a commuting nightmare.
Starting Monday a ferry will take passengers between Ferrisburgh, Vt., and Westport, N.Y. The new website will have more information on that ferry and the latest plans to repair or replace the bridge.
