Albany, New York - October 23, 2009
The third-party candidate in New York's 23rd Congressional district race has picked up an unusual endorsement.
Former Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is throwing her support behind Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman, not Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava.
Palin wrote on her Facebook page that Hoffman stands for truly Republican principles like smaller government and lower taxes.
Hoffman and Scozzafava are joined by Democrat Doug Owens in the race for the House seat left vacant when Republican Rep. John McHugh became secretary of the Army.
