Guilty Plea in Fatal Overdose Case

St. Albans, Vermont - October 23, 2009

A guilty plea in a fatal drug overdose case.

Staci Dolan, 35, pleaded no contest to felony sale of narcotics and was order to serve 30 days on a work crew. He was originally charged with manslaughter for selling prescription valium to 19-year-old Jeremy Chapple during a party in Swanton last June. The medical examiner initially ruled that Chapple died from a mixture of the drug and alcohol. But after further examination valium was not found in Chapple's system-- but another drug was. So prosecutors say another arrest may be made in the case.

Matthew Peno, 21, of Sheldon Springs, is charged with manslaughter for buying the alcohol and Amy Clark, 35, is charged with enabling a minor to drink for hosting the party at her apartment.
