Vt.'s Energy Future With or Without Yankee: Discussion Tonight

Shelburne, Vermont - October 27, 2009

Lawmakers continue to scrutinize the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant which wants to extend its license another 20 years.

While lawmakers consider the Vernon plant's possible closure, there's a public presentation on the issue tonight. At Vermont Yankee: A Discussion of Our Energy Future, a panel of energy and environmental officials will discuss the social, economic and environmental impacts of the plant's closure or extended operation.

The presentation runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Shelburne Town Hall.
