NYC mayor, Dem to have final debate

Associated Press - October 27, 2009 5:45 AM ET

NEW YORK (AP) - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Democrat struggling to unseat him have one more debate before Election Day.

Bloomberg and William Thompson Jr. are preparing for their second and final hourlong faceoff Tuesday night.

Bloomberg is running on the Republican and Independence Party lines. He is comfortably ahead in the polls.

The race has been contentious, with both sides running negative ads.

Their first debate was almost nonstop bickering. Bloomberg kept Thompson on the defensive and the Democrat didn't spend much time talking about his accomplishments.

The billionaire mayor is outspending Thompson, about $85 million to $6 million so far.

The debate airs live on WABC TV, 1010 WINS radio and 7online.com.
