Accused Arsonist Not Competent to Stand Trial

Berlin, New Hampshire - October 29, 2009

A man accused of lighting a string of devastating fires is not competent to stand trial.

That's the ruling from the judge, who also said Kerry Tibbetts won't be competent in the next 12 months.

Tibbetts allegedly set a string of fires in Berlin, New Hampshire. Police say he admitted to his arson spree, and said he torched the buildings to relieve stress.

Police say he targeted buildings where he spent time as a child.
