Two high profile North Country Republicans are not endorsing the Republican in a hotly contested Congressional race.
Plattsburgh Mayor Donald Kasprzak and former Governor George Pataki are backing the Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.
Pataki says Hoffman will lower taxes, boost the upstate's economy and stand up to the Democratic leadership better than Republican Dede Scozzafava.
"And I think the fact that he's endorsing me now, I'm hoping than many more republicans will join our team and get out and vote for me on tuesday," said Hoffman
Kasprazak says Hoffman will not be controlled by special interests.
