Plattsburgh, New York - November 3, 2009
Voters in Clinton County, New York will vote on major changes to their local legislature today.
They'll vote on abolishing term limits for local officials. They'll also vote on staggering the terms of the ten local legislators. That would mean five of the county's ten legislative areas will seek a two-year term in 2011, instead of a four-year term. Then terms would return to four years after the 2011 election.
