Hoffman Pledges to Continue Conservative Fight

Saranac Lake, New York - November 4, 2009

Despite losing the race for Congress, Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman says he will continue the fight to "take back America."

Hoffman took to the stage at his campaign party in Saranac Lake just after midnight Wednesday morning.

Hoffman ran a campaign based on conservative ideals of pro-life and anti-tax and said his race was just one fight in the battle to bring those ideals to Congress. In his speech, he urged his supporters to continue what he started.

"This race was a very tough race. We stood up against two major parties that had a lot of money but we got this far on determination, we got this far with a grassroots campaign that got many, many volunteers out," Hoffman said.

Hoffman said he will work with newly-elected Democrat Bill Owens and share some of his ideas about how to bring jobs back to the North Country and reduce taxes for New York residents.
