NEW YORK (AP) - A publicized "debate" between former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall has been called off.
Spokesmen for both former presidents confirmed Wednesday the event had been canceled because an overeager promoter had inaccurately hyped it as a debate.
They say the Feb. 25 event had been planned as a moderated, serious discussion between the two former presidents, similar to their appearance in May at Toronto's Convention Centre.
Madison Square Garden spokeswoman Mikyl Cordova (MEYE'-kuhl KOR'-duh-vuh) declined comment.
