CLERMONT, N.Y. (AP) - A Virginia man flying his low-winged monoplane from New Hampshire to Kingston made an emergency landing in a farm field and flipped upside down. The pilot suffered only minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.
State police say 50-year-old Jay Morrissett was having fuel problems and was forced to land in a field along Route 8 in rural Clermont, 40 miles south of Albany, Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers say the plane will stay where it landed until Federal Aviation Administration agents investigate on Friday.
